This classic British rook rifle is fitted with a vintage Dr. Wohler SAAR 2 1/2x telescopic sight. With blued octagonal barrel respectively signed “W.P. JONES. MAKER.” and “25. WHITTALL ST. BIRMINGHAM” towards the breech, with matted top flat, bead front sight and blued rear sight of one standing notch sight and two folding leaves each with inlaid center line and graduated to 150 yards, and with non-selective ejector. Casehardened action with blued automatic safety and blued toplever. The whole with classic English border and scroll engraving. The underside of the barrels and water table struck with Birmingham single definitive proof mark. Figured 13 3/4 inch walnut semi-pistol grip stock with grooved butt, checkered grip and forearm, the latter with dark horn cap, and dark horn pistol grip cap. Provenance: The Malcolm King Collection

In fine condition. The barrel retains 90% blued finish with clear engraved details, some minor muzzle rub to finish with some corrosion marking towards the muzzle. Action retains 50% faded original casehardened finish, trigger guard with traces of original blued finish restricted to the inner surface. Engraving clear throughout. Stock with well defined checkering, numerous scattered age related storage and handling marks including initials and the caliber designation marked on the right side of the stock and bruises. Mechanically excellent.
