The coin finished boxlock action displays lightly carved fences and near full coverage floral scroll engraving surrounding a setter and two mallards on the left, a pair of roe deer fighting over a doe, a spaniel flushing upland birds on the right, and the triggerguard shows a huntsman at the ready to fire. The gun features double triggers and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, Deeley latch release, and horn tip inlay and round knob pistol grip stock with cheekpiece and trapdoor buttplate with a magnificent stag on the door. Includes a leather sling and an extra matching barrel set chambered in 12 gauge and 8x57 JS which measures 27 1/2 inches with a 2 3/4 inch chamber and single extractor. Very fine, retaining 97% original blue finish on the barrels, 95% original coin grey, light handling evidence, and scattered minor spotting. The wood is very good with some dings and scratches, a chip from the left side of the forend at the shoe, and crisp checkering. The extra barrel set is very good. Mechanically excellent.
