Blued Special-Gewehrlaufstahl barrels with single white bead front sight on the matted, concave solid rib, Champlin Firearms marking on right barrel, standard East German proofs, "1274" (December, 1974) proof date, and 70 mm (2 3/4 inch) chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished sidelock action displays scrollwork surrounding a German pointer flushing a covey of game birds on the left and a raptor descending on a trio of mallards on the right. The gun features a single trigger and manual tang mounted triggerguard. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings including the Deeley latch release and straight grip stock with blank inscription oval and checkered buttplate. Includes correspondence between original purchaser and Champlin Firearms discussing the purchase of the gun. Very fine as professionally refinished by Champlin Arms, retaining 98% blue and coin finishes, light handling evidence, oil staining on the flats and watertable, and minor oil marking on the action and locks. The stock has a chip at the toe, otherwise the wood is very fine with minor scratches and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
