Manufactured in 1941, this is an exceptional example of a World War II-era commercial Colt Government Model pistol. The left side of the slide has the two-line address/patent dates and the right side has the caliber marking followed by a Rampant Colt. The left of the trigger guard is marked "T/VP" and the right is marked "60". The right side of the frame has the Government Model marking over the serial number. The barrel is marked "COLT 45 AUTO" on the bottom left with a polished chamber. It has the "improved model" features including the short checkered trigger, wide checkered hammer, dished frame sides, and arched checkered mainspring housing with a lanyard loop. Fitted with a Swartz safety in original configuration, full checkered grips, and a correct full blue "COLT/45 AUTO" marked magazine. Provenance: The Dr. Robert Azar Collection

Very fine, retains 90% plus of the original blue finish with cold blue touch up visible on the right forward frame, some very light edge wear and a few scattered light handling marks. The grips are very fine with a few scattered minor blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
