Originally produced in August of 1944 and subsequently arsenal upgraded to the M1D Sniper configuration, a procedure more typically performed on Springfield-made M1 receivers. Rifles so converted were used as sniper weapons during Korea and the Vietnam War. Blade front and peep rear sights, "DRC" windage drum, "S-A-1-52" barrel, "SA" bolt, trigger housing, safety, and hammer, and a relief cut Winchester-style operating rod. The stock is "S.A." and "RA" marked, with a "MRT/10 52" cheek piece (incomplete lace, no screws), green canvas sling, a checkered steel buttplate and cleaning tools in the butt compartment. The M84 scope is numbered "30266", with a sliding sunshield and rubber eyepiece. Included with the rifle is a conical Hart M2 flash hider and a green canvas scope case.
Very good as arsenal refurbished, with 95% of the parkerized finish, showing some covered up dings and pits concentrated on the receiver and mild handling marks overall. The stock is good, with a number of dents and scratches. The scope shows mild external wear, with the optics in good order. Mechanically excellent.
