Manufactured in 1879. It features German silver blade front and notch rear sights, two-line Hartford addresses, etched caliber panel, patent date and serial number on the barrel, "38 CAL C" on the left side of the frame, London crown "V" and "GP" proofs on the matching numbered cylinder, casehardened frame, niter blue trigger and hammer, and smooth birds head grips.

Very fine. 80% of the bright original high polish blue finish is present, with areas of brown and gray patina, bright edge wear, mild handling marks and spotting. The exceptional original etched caliber panel is strong and legible. 85% vivid case colors are present on the frame, with some minor spotting on the top strap and a bit of wear along the edges. Strong, fiery niter blue is present on the hammer and trigger, and the very fine grips show some light dents and rubs. The hammer retracts, but the cylinder does not rotate.
