Description:

Manufactured in 1871, the first year of production. The top of the barrel has the standard two-line address and the right of the frame has been engraved "JAMES WOODWARD & SONS./64 ST JAMES'S STREET. LONDON." by the retailer. The chambers of the cylinder and bottom of the barrel have British proofs, the butt, barrel, and inside of each grip panel are numbered "1211"; and the front cylinder face is numbered "1037". Includes a hardwood case with James Woodward & Sons interior label, cleaning rod, key, and thirteen .41 RF cartridges.

Rating Definition:

Fine, retains 60% plus of the bright original blue finish and 40% of the original silver, which shows an attractive antique patina along with the exposed brass, the balance being mostly a smooth grey patina. The grips are very fine with a few scattered light handling marks and retain most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some scattered minor handling/storage marks.
