Manufactured in 1884, the left side of the barrel has the acid etched panel marked "COLT HOUSE 38" and the top of the barrel has the two-line address. The top of the frame on either side of the sighting groove is marked "WATSON BROs./4.PALL MALL LONDON." There are British proofs on the cylinder and bottom of the barrel. It is fitted with blade and frame notch sights and a pair of desirable hard rubber "cop and thug" grips featuring a police officer restraining a thug's knife armed hand while pointing a Colt revolver at his chest. Includes a hardwood case with Watson Bros. interior label, oiler, turnscrew, cleaning rod, and five .380 Eley cartridges.

Fine, retains 70% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, a few minor gouges on the barrel near the front sight, and the acid etched panel legible. The correct replacement grips are also fine with some scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically functions intermittently, with the hammer/cylinder hanging up at times. The case is fine with some mild wear and handling/storage marks.
