Description:

While limited in production to only approximately 25,000-30,000 revolvers between 1875-1889, many of these "Improved Army" or "Frontier Army" revolvers saw hard use in the hands of Native Americans, settlers, and lawmen in the West. The Model 1875 was Remington's answer to the Colt Single Action Army and is a solid firearm with fewer main components than Colt's revolver, but it simply suffered in the famous "Peacemaker's" shadow. "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION.N.Y. U.S.A." marked on top of the barrel. "H" is carved on the inside of the left grip, and "AL" is carved inside the right grip. The serial number "339" is marked on the left of the grip frame. Cylinder is unmarked. "2306" marked on the back of the loading gate.

Rating Definition:

Very good, retaining 30% plus original blue finish with gray and brown patina on the balance, some scattered light pitting, and crisp markings in the barrel. Grips are also very good, slightly undersized, with scattered scratches, some light wear, and a chip at the bottom front of the right grip. Mechanically excellent.
