Originally manufactured in October of 1943 and subsequently arsenal upgraded to the M1D Sniper configuration. Rifles so converted were used as sniper weapons during Korea and the Vietnam War. Blade front and peep rear sights, "DRC" windage drum, "SA" bolt, trigger housing, safety, and hammer. No attempt was made to remove the stock. Open box "SA/RA" cartouche stamped on the left of the buttstock, and a circled "P" proofmark on the wrist. Includes Civilian Marksmanship Program paperwork and receipt identifying this rifle as sold to an individual in 1998 and a 1987 dated packing list with all of the included accessories accompanying the rifle in its shipping box. The included shipping box has labels identifying it as shipped to the individual and is hand-numbered on the outside of the box to match the rifle, with a number of accessories still in their sealed packaging, including the M84 scope and mount, leather cheekpiece, M2 cone flash hider and various cleaning tools. This item was still in its sealed CMP shipping box prior to its arrival at Rock Island Auction Company and was only opened up to ensure its like new condition status.

Exceptionally fine as arsenal upgraded to M1D configuration, retains 99% of the arsenal parkerized finish with only light handling marks. The stock is excellent plus with a few light handling marks. The accessories appear to be in fine order but have not been unsealed for inspection. Mechanically excellent.
