1920 production with "S.A./flaming bomb/3-20" marked barrel, fixed blade front and folding ladder rear sights with volley notch, "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL 1903/MARK I" on the receiver, correct Mark I style straight grip stock with recess below the ejection port for Pedersen Device, full length handguard, and correct Mark I cut-off and correct Mark I disconnector in the sear. The stock is marked with faint arsenal rebuild inspection marks, single circled "P" proof, and has a smooth steel trapdoor buttplate. Parkerized barrel, barrel bands, rear sight base, bolt, trigger guard, floor plate. Period black finished receiver and firing pin sleeve in the same style as seen on Pedersen devices. Includes a 1918 dated SA M1905 bayonet, canvas scabbard, and M1907 leather sling. Provenance: The Steven Preston Military Collection

Very good, retaining 75% period applied arsenal style black finish on the receiver and 75% arsenal refurbished parkerized finish on the remaining parts with scattered light handling scratches and some areas of smooth brown patina. Stock is very good as lightly sanded and re-oiled with some scattered light handling marks and dents. Mechanically excellent. This rifle is ready for installation of a Pedersen Device!
