Description:

Introduced in 1939, the Lahti L-39 anti-tank rifle fires a 20x138mmB armor piercing round from a top-loaded ten-round box magazine with semi-automatic capability. These were put to use in the early stages of World War II, with the first few seeing service in the Winter War and the majority seeing use in the Continuation War between Finland and the invading Soviets. Although its original intended duty was for tank hunting, and it did so successfully against the Soviet T-26 tanks, the Soviets quickly upgraded to the using the T-34 tanks in service, which severely slowed its effectiveness. Lahti rifles were predominantly used against armored cars, enemy equipment, and snipers in cover too sturdy to punch through with conventional weapons, essentially becoming anti-material rifles decades before the term would be coined. Measuring taller than a man and weighing in at close to 110 pounds, the L-39 is fitted with a ported muzzle brake, a long vented hardwood barrel shroud, left-offset blade and tangent sights, crank-action cocking handle, smooth hardwood grips with an oversized steel handguard, and a wooden cheek piece. The left of the receiver is marked with the "20 pst.kiv./39" model designation above a boxed "SA" Finnish property mark and boxed "VKT" manufacturer logo above the serial number. Includes nine extra magazines (ten total), five metal magazine boxes, and approximately forty-eight rounds of 20x138mmB armor-piercing ammunition.

Rating Definition:

Fair with extensive scattered surface corrosion and pitting. Wood furniture is also fair with scattered scratches, cracks/splits, and an absent section in the forend. Absent bipod/sled and buttpad assemblies. The magazine cases are rough with wear and damaged hinges. Mechanically does not function, the cocking handle turns freely without grabbing the bolt, internal components absent. NOTE: This Destructive Device is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
