A refinement of the earlier RM-38, the RM-41 Infantry Mortar used a similar fixed firing pin for ignition and a collar-controlled base bleed system for range adjustment, but discarded the bipod in favor of a multi-function yoked baseplate unit and integrated a ventilation tube to direct the bled ignition gasses forward and away from the crew. The serial number is marked on the base of the launch tube, with a set of spirit levels for orientation and a traverse adjustment screw. The baseplate has a carry handle in the rear and a set of serrated blades set into the bottom for stronger purchase into soil.
