This is an example of a rare Mannlicher "Short" Model 1905 self-loading pistol. These could technically be called their "compact" model as they used a shortened/reduced frame and upper receiver/barrel area that functioned and operated exactly like the large Model 1905 pistol. It is marked "SYSTEM/MANNLICHER/Md.1905/WAFFENFABRIK/STEYR" on the left of the frame. It has a fixed blade front sight and a notch rear sight is machined into the very rear of the slide between the serrated areas. The serial number is on the underside of the frame cover while the left of the mismatched barrel and chamber are both numbered "2375". It is fitted with vertically serrated grips.

Very fine as assembled, retains 60% of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina, primarily on high spots, in similar fashion on the assembled parts indicating that they have been paired for quite some time. The grips are also very fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
