Manufactured towards the end of World War I. The chamber is marked "1918", "DWM" monogram marked front toggle, three "crown/gothic letter" proofs and an imperial eagle proof on the right of the chamber, the latter repeated on the barrel along with a "crown/RC" arsenal repair proof. The full serial number is on the bottom of the barrel and front of the frame, with matching partial numbers on various small parts, including inside both grips. It is fitted with blade front and tangent rear sights, checkered grip, stock mounting lug, and a nickeled magazine with wood base. Includes a replacement board stock with matching number "068" restamped on the attaching iron, a reproduction "VORTHN/1918" marked leather holster rig (numbered to the gun in two places) with dual magazine pouch, extra leather dual magazine pouch with extra nickeled magazine with "crown/gothic letter" stamped wood base, two desirable drum magazines, one arsenal refurbished first model marked for Bing Bros, and one second model marked AEG, and a walnut stand. Fine, retains 70% of the original blue finish and 40% of the straw colors with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on edges and the grip straps, and some scattered light pitting visible under the finish on top. The grips are also fine with some scattered minor edges chips and blemishes and otherwise well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. The accessories are very good or better showing generally mild wear typical of their age and use.
