Blued steel barrels with single steel bead sight on the matted solid rib which is marked "Armi Famars", standard Italian proofs and later (1990 dated) London proofs on the flats, three bands of engraving at either breech, small wedge of floral scroll at the base of the rib, and 70 mm (2 3/4 inch) chambers with automatic ejectors. The coin finished hand detachable sidelock action displays classic English style rose & scroll engraving covering nearly all of the surface surrounding "Famars" banners on either lockplate and on the underside. The engraving continues on the trigger guard, both tangs, and the toplever. The right side of the trigger plate is signed "BREGOLI INC." for Italian Master Engraver Alfredo Bregoli. The gun features a rolled trigger guard, double triggers, bushed firing pins, and an automatic tang mounted safety switch. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings, Anson button release, and blank Famars inscription shield as well as a straight grip stock with teardrop carved flats and a checkered bare butt. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both proved at 18.5 mm (.728 inches) and both measured at .730 inches; choke constriction .020/.019 inches; minimum wall thickness .025/.029 inches; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 7/8 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 7 lbs.
