The coin grey sideplated boxlock action displays extensive floral scroll engraving surrounding five individual game bird scenes with the scroll extending to the toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs. The left sideplate shows a pair of quail in flight over a grassland, the left of the action has a single quail over a grassland, the underside has a singular quail taking off, the right sideplate has a pair of woodcock in flight over a woodland, and the right side of the action shows a single woodcock in a forest. The game scenes are all cut in fine semi-relief over their smoothed backgrounds. The trigger plate is signed "R.ROY" to the right of trigger for Master Engraved Richard Roy. The gun features a single selective trigger, hand detachable bottom plate on the action, and a tang mounted automatic safety switch with gold inlaid "S". Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings and an Anson button style release, and pistol grip stock with engraved coin grip cap, blank inscription oval, and engraved coin skeleton buttplate over a checkered bare butt. Includes a leather bound takedown case with canvas cover, two brass snap caps, and a brass oiler. Stock measurements: 1 1/4 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 15 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs. 6 oz.

Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes, limited handling evidence, a repaired chip on the lower left stock horn, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is excellent. Mechanically excellent.
