Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1866 and remains in very high condition, especially for a Model 1849 Pocket. These revolvers were the most popular Colt percussion revolvers and usually got a lot of use. This one seems to have rarely left its case. It has the standard markings and features, including matching serial numbers (loading lever blank). The case has lead balls and conical bullets, an eagle pattern flask, L-shaped combination tool, dual cavity mold, and cap tin.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% plus original bright blue finish on the barrel and cylinder, 70% original case colors, 80% original age darkened silver on the grip frame, chipped wedge screw, mild scratches and marks, solid cylinder pins, and generally light overall wear. The grip is excellent and has most of the original varnish, light edge wear, and faint dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine (absent the key escutheon), and the accessories are very good with exception of the flask which is excellent. Mild age and storage related visible on the case exterior.
