Excellent Cased Smith & Wesson Model No. 1 Second Issue Revolver

Manufactured in 1860-1868. The barrel rib has the one-line address, the cylinder has the patent marking, and the initials "WG." are period inscribed in script characters on the butt. Matching assembly mark on the grip frame and barrel. A mismatched assembly mark appears on the cylinder. The right grip panel is numbered to the gun. The period case contains an empty cartridge block. Provenance: The Sheryl Cheely Collection

ConditionExcellent. The barrel and cylinder retains 95% plus bright original blue finish. The frame retains nearly all attractive age darkened original silver plating. Nearly all original case colors remain on the hammer. The grips are also excellent with some minor handling marks and retaining nearly all original varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with absent lid trim on the short sides, minor handling/storage marks and typical high spot wear on the lining. An attractive cased S&W Model No. 1 Second Issue Revolver.
