Manufactured in 1916, this is a rare Trapper's Carbine with a 15 inch barrel. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms lists this carbine as being removed from the purview of the National Firearms Act and classified as a curio and relic and a copy of the ATF exemption letter is included. Standard markings including Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech along with a "B" in a shield on the receiver ring (likely an export mark). Fitted with pinned blade front and folding ladder rear sights, and a saddle ring on the left of the receiver. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a carbine buttplate. Fine, retains 80% plus of the period retailer refinished blue with the balance thinning to a smooth grey patina and a few scattered patches of mild pitting. The wood is fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches and a visible repair near the tail of the lower tang. Mechanically excellent.
