Description:

Hooded blade front and tangent rear sights, "945/1940" on the receiver ring, "G.33/40" on the side wall, and a correct matching numbered turned bolt with "J9" stamped on the underside of the bolt handle. The stock is the early three-piece pattern; instead of a single piece of hardwood, the stock is constructed from three pieces with box joint seams just ahead of the magazine and just behind the wrist. An early attempt to make a stock more qualified to cope with extreme cold in alpine conditions, multiple smaller sections of wood experienced less shrinking or swelling along the grain with temperature, and similar modifications can be seen on some Finnish variant Nagant rifles. A "mountain" style extended buttplate is also installed.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with 75% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, minor spotting and light handling marks. The stock is good, with some cracking at either end of the upper handguard and numerous mild dents and scuffs overall. Mechanically excellent.
