This is an example of a desirable original Colt Firearms Division commercially manufactured fully automatic M16 rifle. These original Colt fully automatic M16 series rifles are very desirable as they were produced exactly as their military counterpart using the same military grade, factory original parts. To keep them separate and distinct from the military weapons, they were given their own special commercial serial number designation in the 9 Million serial number range. This particular weapon uses a 9 million range registered M16 lower with a "dissipator" style upper. The upper is fitted with A2 pattern sights, closed-bottom birdcage flash hider, bayonet lug, round button forward assist and case deflector. The barrel is HBAR profile with a 1:9 twist, with a carbine-length gas system concealed by a rifle-length forearm, a cut-down front sight base securing the gas block and a full sized sight (not connected to the gas system) ahead of the forearm. The bolt head is marked "MPC" with a "C" marked carrier, and the charging handle is a Vltor/BCM Gunfighter Mod 3. The lower receiver is fitted with a raised fence around the magazine catch, with a right handed "SAFE"/"SEMI"/"AUTO" selector configuration, Colt Firearms Division address on the left side, and the "COLT/M16" model marking and Rampant Colt on the magazine well. Fitted with a checkered pistol grip and a fixed buttstock.

Excellent, with 95% of the matte black phosphate finish, showing a darker tone on the replacement upper receiver and a lighter tone on the lower, with mild scratches and handling marks overall. The furniture is in equal condition. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
