This attractive factory engraved Stevens No. 49 was manufactured circa 1896-1916. Globe front sight, the two-line J. Stevens A & T Co. address on top of the barrel, "32.40" on the upper left flat of the barrel, matching serial number on the bottom of the barrel and the lower tang, matching partial serial number on the rear surface of the checkered forearm, "49 0" on the front surface of the action, scroll engraved action, drilled and tapped for a tang peep sight, and a checkered high comb pistol grip buttstock with checkering, cheekpiece and a casehardened Swiss buttplate. "S13I/T26U" carved in the left rear of the forearm. Includes a Stevens scope marked with number "470" on the tube, National Rifle Association Hartmann rifle case with a plaque numbered "REGISTER NO. 99", an extra matching serial numbered .22 LR barrel with checkered walnut forearm, .32-40 shell casings, bullet mold, lead cast bullets, priming tool, shell forming tool, and an extra lever. Very fine, retains 85% original blue finish on the barrel with some very light finish loss around the muzzle and a few light scratches. 60% plus original case colors remain with areas of scattered brown freckling on the balance. Wood is fine with some Mechanically excellent. Scope is fine with 80% plus original blue finish on the tube and serviceable slightly hazy optics. Extra barrel is fine with 60% original blue finish, scattered light surface oxidation overall. Case is very good.
