Civil War Era Model 1860 Cavalry Officer's Saber with Scabbard

This sword has a lighter 35 1/8 inch long curved blade (measured straight) than a standard Model 1860 with classical, floral, and patriotic themed etching as well as some scroll and floral patterns on the hilt. The grip is wrapped in black leather and both single strand and twisted wire. The iron scabbard's gilt bronze/brass fittings are particularly ornate and include acorn and oak leaf designs on the drag, additional scroll and floral patterns on the other fittings, and a patriotic shield and swords.

ConditionVery good with a mostly bright blade with distinct etching, some mild pitting mainly towards the tip, and mild wear; mostly aged patina on the hilt and scabbard fittings, and dark mottled gray and brown patina on the scabbard body.
