These derringers were introduced in 1870 and totaled around 48,000 produced. The top of the barrel has a rounded blade front sight and "COLT" in large italic letters and the bottom of the barrel has small British proofs. The caliber marking is on the left of the frame. Includes an oak presentation case with Colt London Agency label inside the lid, key, and two .41 RF cartridges.
Very fine, retains 90% plus of the bright original blue finish and 70% of the silver finish with the balance primarily a smooth grey patina or attractively aged brass. The grips are excellent with a few scattered light handling marks and retaining almost all of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is also very fine with some light handling/storage wear.
