Blue Damascus steel barrels with a single white bead sight on the matted concave solid rib, chambers measures at 3 inches with automatic ejectors, and choke constrictions of .027/.027 inches. The casehardened action displays broad floral scroll with dog scenes on either side, a game bird scene on the underside, and an "MSC" monogram on the triggerguard. The gun features gold double triggers and tang mounted safety. Beautifully figured, fancy checkered splinter forend with engraved shoe and ebony tip inlay and straight grip stock with blank inscription oval and Ithaca hard rubber buttplate. Includes an extra set of 26 inch barrels with .000/.000 choke constriction. The above configuration is confirmed by the included factory letter, including the extra barrel set, when the gun was completed November 9, 1897. Stock measurements: 1 7/8 inch drop at comb; 3 1/4 inch drop at heel; 13 7/8 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs 4 oz.

Very fine, retaining strong Damascus patterns on the barrels, traces of case colors on the action with some areas having been polished, and overall light handling evidence. There are various cracks coming off the butt and stock head; otherwise, the wood is fine with scattered dings and scratches, light sanding, and sharp re-cut checkering. The 30 inch set of barrels have had the chambers lengthened. The extra barrels are very fine with the exception of having the chokes bored out. Mechanically excellent.
