Manufactured in 1942, near the start of U.S. involvement in World War II. The left side of the slide is marked with the standard two-line address and patent dates, followed by the Rampant Colt, and the right side has the standard Service Model Ace and caliber markings. The right side of the frame has the serial number and "60" on the trigger guard. The left side of the frame has a boxed "W.B." inspection mark and "T/VP" on the trigger guard. The barrel is unmarked and has a polished chamber. It is fitted with blade front and adjustable notch rear sights, short checkered trigger, checkered arched mainspring housing, wide checkered hammer, long grip safety, checkered walnut grips, and a full blue magazine with Colt Service Model Ace markings on the base.

Fine, retains 70% of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, most noticeably on the leading edges of the slide, front grip strap, and mainspring housing. The grips are also very good with a few scattered minor blemishes/flat spots and otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
