B) Ciener/Heckler & Koch HK94 Carbine Converted into an Integrally Suppressed Class III/NFA Dual Registered Short Barreled Rifle/Silencer

Manufacturer: Jonathan Ciener

Type: Short barreled rifle
Gauge: 9 mm
Barrel: 8 inch round

Grip:
Stock: synthetic
Item Views: 2718
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 356
Class: Class III
Description:

Originally manufactured in 1983 by Heckler & Koch as a HK94 carbine (a semi-automatic commercial version of the famous MP5 SMG), this item was converted by Ciener to a short barreled rifle patterned after the MP5SD integrally suppressed weapon. Famous for use by the U.S. Navy SEALs and other elite operators, the original SD design used a ported barrel within an expansion chamber to bleed gas away before the round leaves the rifling, giving subsonic performance with standard NATO ball ammunition. This example uses a similar extended receiver/shroud assembly, but forgoes the porting in favor of a more conventional stacked conical baffle arrangement, and makes the extension a permanently installed component of the receiver. The traditional hooded post and four-position drum sights and HK markings are present, with "JONATHAN ARTHUR CIENER TITUSVILLE, FL." added to the left side of the receiver. The bolt carrier has been modified for compatibility with an auto-sear, and numbered to match the included sear unit. A ribbed and knurled slip on cover for the silencer body is included, both to further emulate the look of the SD and to protect the shooter's hand from the heat of the silencer during firing. Provenance: The Dr. Robert Azar Collection

Rating Definition:

Very fine as upgraded to full auto, with 95% of the matte black finish, showing mild wear and handling marks overall. The silencer cover is racked on the left side, and the stock shows mild wear. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478. The item is registered as a SBR with a noted integral silencer, and the sear unit is registered as a machine gun, for two "Tax Stamps" total for the lot.
