While primarily known as a semi-automatic only variant of the famous M14 military rifle, Springfield Armory is known to have made a limited number of M1A rifles compatible with the selective fire hardware of the M14; very little separates this rifle from the original military battle rifle save the receiver markings. Blade front and peep rear sights, with National Match style swiveling peep, "WCE" elevation and "closed arrow" windage drums. The receiver is bedded into the stock, with the proper "A" marked selector switch and transfer bar on the right side. A M2 Harris bipod is clamped to the gas cylinder, with an unmarked hardwood stock, steel buttplate with flip-up shoulder rest and green canvas sling. A hand-marked matching Springfield box (noted as being an "M1A-A1" model with "Select Fire" note) is included, along with six extra magazines scope rail, and manuals. Provenance: The Al Walker Collection
Excellent, with 98% of the parkerized finish, showing some light wear and handling marks overall. The stock is in equal condition. Mechanically excellent.
