Scarce Webley & Scott Model 1910 Type III Semi-Automatic Pistol

This is one of approximately 361 Type III (late pattern) Model 1910 pistols reportedly manufactured by Webley & Scott in the 66300-66600 range. This variation is most readily identified by the lack of a grip safety and a combination thumb safety/slide release/takedown lever on the left side. It has a fixed blade front sight, drift adjustable notch rear sight, the winged bullet trademark and the three-line address and caliber marking on the left side of the slide followed by the "SAFE" marking, matching numbers on the frame, barrel and slide, Birmingham proofs, checkered grips, and a lanyard loop on the butt offset to the left side.

ConditionFine, with 70% of the original blue finish, showing bright wear on the high points and on the slide from contact with the lever, a mixed brown patina on the gripstraps, and mild spotting and handling marks overall. The grips are very good, with mild scuffs and dings on both panels and additional rubbing from the lever on the left. The magazine retains 80% of its nickel plating, with wear concentrated around the feed lips and the top of the spine. Mechanically excellent.
