With browned Damascus rifled barrels with stirrup ramrods beneath and concave ribs with bead front sights and signed “HOLLAND. BANBURY.” William Holland is recorded as working in the Oxfordshire market town of Banbury between 1841 and 1852. Casehardened patent breeches each with platinum plug, casehardened scroll engraved standing breeches and back action locks each signed “HOLLAND”. Furniture including casehardened scroll engraved trigger plates and blued scroll engraved trigger guards. Figured walnut three quarter length stocks with checkered butts. Birmingham proof marks. In fitted mahogany case lined in burgundy baize, with some accessories including small brass mounted lacquered copper powder flask, iron bullet mold and brass mounted loading rod with worm.

Fine, retaining 70% original casehardened/brown/blue finish throughout and crisp and clear engraving. The very fine stock has scattered age bruising and strong checkering with wear points from rubbing in the case. Mechanically excellent. The case and accessories are good, with the lining partially replaced.
