Manufactured in 1892 as a third model with an integral dust cover rail and dust cover with grip serrations at the rear. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address/King's patent marking in front of the rear sight and the caliber marking faintly at the breech. The upper tang is marked with the model designation, caliber marking repeated on the bottom of the cartridge elevator, and serial number on the lower tang. It is fitted with German silver blade front and folding ladder rear sights, and is mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a trapdoor crescent buttplate (cleaning rod not included).
Good, retains traces of the original blue finish, mostly in sheltered areas, some speckling of mild oxidation concentrated on the left sideplate and left of the lever, and the balance the mostly smooth brown patina of a hard-worked but well cared for rifle. The wood is also good with a few scattered hairline cracks, on running horizontally on the left of the stock from the wrist to buttplate, and otherwise generally the scattered minor dings and scratches of a working gun. Mechanically excellent.
