Description:

Manufacturing began in 1870. This pair are both of the early Second Type, featuring the short high hammers and serial numbers only 20 digits apart. They feature matching, beautifully executed floral scroll engraving that covers more than 75% of the metal surfaces. Both have the standard italic Colt marking on top of the barrel and small British proofs on the bottom, with the serial numbers marked on the left side of the grip frames. Both grips on "B" are hand numbered to match the pistol, and the right grip on "A" is numbered to gun. Includes a hardwood case with Colt London Agency label on the interior, which also has an untranslated hand marking that may be written in Bengali, which may hint at shipment to India via London. Also included in the case is a key, two dummy .41 RF cartridges, and a cleaning rod.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 90% plus of the retailer applied nickel finish with some scattered light handling marks and crisp engraving overall. The grips are very good with some scattered light handling marks and hairline crack in the bottom of the left panel. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with some mild handling/storage wear and marks.
