This interesting escopeta has a mix of European and Ottoman/Caucasian styling. The gun was probably assembled/decorated in the late 19th century from earlier components. The barrel has a flared muzzle with a blade front sight, flute and dot accents, and silver band followed by additional silver bands, golden inlaid designs including an untranslated calligraphic marking, and raised breech plate with notch sight. The miquelet lock has inlay floral and band designs, as does the iron trigger guard. The paddle but stock would be more at home on a 17th century wheellock carbine and features extensive engraved inlays, including a profile bust bearded man wearing a turban, bearded man with a gun on the right side of the stock, and a coiled snake and male lion facing off on the side flat.

Very good with gray and brown patina, some mild pitting, aged patina on the bands and inlays, most of one silver band absent, and general mild overall wear. The stock has a few slivers of inlay absent, crack and some splicing around the lock, partial replacement ramrod entry pipe, and some dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
