Description:

37 inches in overall length, with a 25 1/2 inch blade with a jagged hamon and fine grain set into a copper habaki with angled serrations. The round iron tsuba is pierced through with leaf patterns, and the fuchi and kashira are blackened with gold paulownia floral motifs in the 3-5-3 pattern used by the modern Imperial Guard Headquarters and Ministry of Justice. The grip has a red cord wrap, with a brown suede and leather cover on the saya. The tang has one mekugi-ana, with a 6-symbol signature on the right side, 12 on the left.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The otherwise fine blade shows a few rough oxidized patches, scattered light spotting, and strong hamon, with some additional oxidization of the tsuba and mild handling marks on very fine the furniture.
