Manufactured circa 1952-1957, the serial number correctly falls into the noted serial number range (C247000-C405363) of USAF M13s. The barrel has the standard S&W and caliber markings, The left side of the top strap is marked "REVOLVER, LIGHTWEIGHT, M13" and the back strap is marked "PROPERTY OF U.S. AIR FORCE". The letter "P" is marked on the left side of the frame and the serial number is on the butt, rear of the cylinder, extractor, and bottom of the barrel. It has a black anodized finish with a blued steel barrel, casehardened hammer and trigger, and is fitted with checkered walnut grips with silver S&W medallions. Includes a black leather "U.S.A.F." marked holster. The accompanying factory letter confirms the 2 inch barrel, blue finish and checkered walnut round butt grips and states the revolver was shipped on May 7, 1954 and delivered to Wilkin Air Force Depot, Shelby, Ohio.
