Manufactured in 1961. The Alaskan variation of the Model 70 was designed as the perfect companion for big game guides across the United States as well as being specifically designed as the first rifle to be chambered in Winchester's new .338 Winchester Magnum cartridge. Fitted with a hooded beaded blade front and flip up rear sights, standard barrel and receiver markings. The receiver is topped with a Buehler mount holding a Bausch & Lomb Baltur A scope. Fitted into a checkered walnut pistol grip stock with Monte Carlo comb and solid red Winchester recoil pad.
Excellent overall, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with light handling marks, some fading to brown on the receiver, and crisp stock checkering. Mechanically excellent. Scope is excellent on exterior with some optical hazing and a crisp reticle.
