This revolver is a fully functioning Colt Single Action Army revolver that has been cut to expose the mechanics of Colt's legendary design. This revolver is an excellent display piece and is very educational. It is definitely much more interesting to look at the mechanical details on a functioning, three dimensional firearm than a flat schematic. Very few of these have been made over the years even though Samuel Colt himself had cutaways made of some of his percussion models to show off his company's designs and instruct members of the Ordnance Department and military.
