Manufactured on a six-digit serial number Reminton Model 700 receiver which falls outside the known M40 range and has had "U.S" stamped above the serial number. The receiver is properly cut to accept stripper clips and fitted with a Redfield mount and Redfield 1" tube 3-9x scope with correct range finder reticle. The replacement, refinished barrel is a 1966 code varmint profile barrel without sights. The action and barrel are parkerized with a blued bolt. The receiver has been bedded into an M40 style walnut pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. Includes a Pelican 1750 series hard case.
Very fine as custom upgraded/built to M40 specifications, retaining 99% professionally refinished parkerized finish with scattered light handling marks, some pitting under the finish on the scope rail, and minor scuffs. Stock is very fine with scattered light dings and scratches and some fogging of the original varnish. Mechanically excellent. Scope is excellent with clear optics and crisp reticle. Case is very fine with storage and handling marks.
