Description:

Manufactured in 1929 with standard markings including Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. Fitted with pinned blade front and elevation adjustable notch rear sights, and a saddle ring on the left of the receiver. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a carbine buttplate. The desirable 16 inch barrel on this example means that it is exempt from the National Firearms Act. Provenance: The Brandhorst Collection

Rating Definition:

Very good, retains 20% of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey-brown patina, and some cold blue touch up on the receiver. The refinished wood is also very good with a glued hairline crack in the left of the forearm, and scattered minor dings and chips. The follower is not retained in the magazine and slightly interrupts cycling of the action, otherwise mechanically fine.
