Manufactured in 1875, the top of the barrel is marked with the standard Colt two-line address flanked by Maltese crosses while the left of the frame is marked "22 CAL". The serial number is marked on the butt, bottom of the barrel, and in pencil on the inside of each grip. It is fitted with smooth walnut grips. Includes a scarce factory box marked for "COLT'S/SEVEN SHOT PISTOL", cleaning rod, and a plain modern box labeled for the gun. Provenance: The Don and Carol Wilkerson Collection
Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original nickel finish and strong traces of the original silver with the balance mostly an attractively aged brass and strong niter blue on the hammer and trigger. The grips are also excellent with some light wear on high spots and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with nice label, moderate wear and some tape repairs.
