Manufactured in 1877. The top of the barrel has the two-line Colt Hartford address and the left side of the barrel has the desirable etched panel marked "COLT NEW 41". The right side of the barrel has the retailer inscription "COGSWELL & HARRISON/142 NEW BOND St LONDON." There are London proof marks on the underside of the barrel and each cylinder flute. The serial number is marked on the left side of the grip frame and bottom of the barrel. The left side of the frame is marked "41CAL C" for centerfire. It is fitted with a pair of smooth grips. Includes an oak presentation case with Cogswell & Harrison interior label, cleaning rod, screwdriver, key, and oiler.
Fine, retains 60% plus of the original blue on the barrel and 50% of the original case colors, the balance a smooth grey patina. The cylinder shows a mixture of refinished blue and grey patina. The attractive grips are very fine with a few scattered hairline cracks and otherwise minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with some light handling/storage evidence.
