Originally ordered as a consecutive set of full blue Single Action Army revolvers, the pair as since been transformed into pieces of art by FEGA Master Engraver Jim White. The barrels feature a band of light wavy line engraving with a single line cut behind it, a six inch flourish on either side of the barrel address consisting of floral scroll and checkerboard patterns with the caliber marking on a scroll, small flourish on the front sight and serrated back. The ejector rod housing feature feathering on the top and bottom with flourishes from either end on the side. The frames display near full coverage scroll and punch dot and checkerboard motifs with feathering on the top strap and a flower on the ejector bump. The engraving further carries these motifs down the backstrap and onto the butt where is spills over onto the bottom of the trigger guard, bow and envelops the screw. The engraving on this wonderful pair extends as far as to be on the screw heads and butts. Ahead of the serial numbers both are signed "J. WHITE/ENGR". The duo is housed in a double gun case reminiscent of European dueling pistols with a green interior. Included with the set is the original Colt invoice, a Nutmeg Sports letter of authenticity for the grips, and Jim White's sketches for the engraving of the revolvers.
Excellent as engraved by Jim White. Retains 99% plus professionally applied grey finish with limited handling marks, crisp engraving, and the lightest front cylinder face flash marks. Grips have a highly attractive grain and color. Mechanically excellent. Case is very fine.
