Manufactured in 1874 as a First Model with the short cylinder flutes and stop slots on the outside. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address marking flanked by Maltese crosses and the left of the frame is marked "41CAL". The matching, early production serial number is on the left side of the grip frame, bottom of the barrel, rear face of the cylinder, and inside each grip panel. It otherwise has standard features of an early production First Model. Includes a plain modern box labeled to match the revolver. Provenance: The Don and Carol Wilkerson Collection
Excellent, retains 90% plus of the original nickel finish with a few scattered patches of light flaking, primarily on the leading edges of the cylinder showing brown patina and some very light surface pitting. The grips are also excellent with some scattered light handling marks and retaining almost all of the varnish. Mechanically excellent.
