These mid-18th century blunderbusses with folding stocks, belt hooks, and elliptical muzzles were reportedly nicknamed "wolf killers" by the Sicilians and others in Italy. The muzzle measures 1.36 by 1.8 inches. The bore is estimated. The barrel has decorative bands, inlaid brass panels with scroll engraving, and additional engraving on top of the breech and tang. The lock also has similar inlaid panels and engraving. The brass furniture also has scroll engraving, raised relief silver busts, and floral accents, and an iron belt hook is fitted on the left. The well figured stock has very attractive relief carved floral and scroll patterns, and the button on top of the wrist allows the stock to fold.
