Blade front and 1000-meter tangent rear sights, with the three line "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF a/N" marking on the top of the chamber area, "crown/crown/U" and "antler" proofs on the sides, and "VON LENGERKE/& DETMOLD/NEW-YORK" marked on the left side of the frame. Von Lengerke & Detmold were New York importers and dealers active in the early 20th Century, and were a prominent early pathway of the then-cutting edge Mauser Broomhandle onto the American sporting market. Matching external numbers on the receiver, bolt, hammer, hammer housing, takedown catch, frame, magazine follower, floorplate, and the interior of the 23-groove grips.
Very fine, with 70% plus original blue finish, showing some rubbing on the high edges and the sides of the barrel, light handling marks and mild spotting. 70% of the original niter blue is present on the small parts, and the fine grips show some mild dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
