A predecessor of the Roth-Steyr pistol, the Roth-Sauer is built around a long recoil action, similar clip-loaded internal magazine in the grip, and utilizing the proprietary 7.65 mm Roth-Sauer ammunition. Fixed blade and notch sights, the Sauer address on the top rib, "PATENT-/ROTH." on top of the frame ahead of the chamber and the Sauer logo at the rear. Fitted with a knurled cocking knob, smooth trigger, and checkered grips with raised Sauer logos.
