This is an exceptional, as-issued, example of a Harrington & Richardson MC-58 .22 caliber semi-automatic training rifle with U.S. Marine Corp property markings. Ordered by the United States Marine Corps, the MC-58 was intended as a small caliber training counterpart for the M14 rifle, adapting the H&R Model 65 Reising with an appropriate stock and set of sights. The included original shipping box (with hand numbered label matching the rifle) and sealed rifle wrapping material were opened upon arrival at Rock Island Auction Company for inspection. Also includes a CMP shipping box, MC-58 Marine Corp stock list booklet, modern trigger lock, Boyt leather sling still sealed in original wrap, and another sealed wrap containing two extra magazines, an extractor, and a firing pin.
Near new overall, as issued, and only opened for inspection prior to selling. The gun has untouched residue on it from the packing material that does not affect the finish of the gun. Mechanically excellent. Included original box is fine with some light corner and edge wear, one end unsealed for inspection, and some slight age discoloration. This pristine, as issued, example of a U.S.M.C. Harrington & Richardson MC-58 training rifle would make an excellent addition to any U.S. military firearms collection!
