This is an excellent WWII U.S. Model 1911A1 pistol that was manufactured by Colt in 1943. The left side of the slide is marked with the two-line block 1897-1913 patent dates, the Rampant Colt trademark and "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.", with the "P" firing proof stamped on the top in front of the rear sight. The right side of the receiver has the Ordnance escutcheon stamped behind the grip panel with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over the serial number, with "M1911A1 U.S.ARMY" is stamped in front of the slide stop hole. The left side of the frame has the U.S. Army Ordnance final inspection mark "G.H.D." below the slide stop and a "P" proof mark is stamped behind the magazine release. The barrel is a correct Colt version stamped "COLT 45 AUTO" along with a "P" proof, both on the left side of the barrel lug. It is fitted with the correct WWII parts: stamped trigger with knurled face, checkered slide stop and thumb safety, with an arched mainspring housing with coarse checkering and a checkered wide spur hammer. The grips have the wide reinforcing rings around the screws and interior strengthening rib and mold numbers. The slide is correctly numbered (1119/149) above and below the firing pin hole. The feed ramp has the polished face. This pistol is furnished with one WWII blued magazine marked "L" on the lip, and it is complete with two brand new US GI magazines, as manufactured in 1980 that are still in the wrappers and one original WWII leather holster marked on the back, "S&R/J.P.C.".

Excellent with 97% plus of the original parkerized finish with just a hint of high spot wear on the front end of the slide. The grips are also excellent. Some cycling wear is apparent on the top of the barrel as well as on the forward lower slide. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very fine with a nice medium brown color overall with clear sharp markings and tight stitching overall.
