Description:

Manufactured in 1963. 1960s manufactured Ithaca Model 37 military shotguns were intended to supplement the U.S. government's then-dwindling stockpile of World War II surplus riot and trench shotguns, which were in high demand in the jungles of Vietnam. Some of these shotguns are said to have been given to local police departments during the Vietnam protests and riots. This example has no "U.S." markings. "33" stamped and also painted in white letters on the butt of the pistol grip. Single brass bead sight (absent), with a 2 3/4 inch chamber and modified choke. Fitted with a 16-groove forearm and smooth pistol grip stock with serrated plastic buttplate. 14 inch length of pull. Includes olive drab green canvas sling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 85% original matte gray parkerized finish with light cycling wear visible on the magazine tube and scattered light handling marks. Stock is very good with defined edges, numerous scattered light scratches mostly concentrated on the buttstock, a chip of wood missing behind the left of the trigger guard, stamped and painted letters as mentioned above, and crisp grasping grooves in the forearm. Mechanically excellent.
